# Prompts: the generated photos of Kestrel Bend Precision Works

Every photo in `images/photo-*.webp` is **generated**. Nothing here was photographed. Laydyne drew the reference model (the answer key, a fictional plant) from each camera position with `get_view_image`. Then Codex's built-in image generation turned each drawing into a colour photo, keeping the camera and the layout. The renders are in `images/render-*.webp`. The records of each attempt are in [docs/verification/factory-from-photos](../../verification/factory-from-photos/README.md).

## Command

One run per view and attempt, each in its own empty directory holding only `reference.png` (the render) and `prompt.txt`:

```sh
codex exec --skip-git-repo-check -s workspace-write -C <dir> -i <dir>/reference.png - < <dir>/prompt.txt
```

codex-cli 0.160.1, default model and settings. The prompt for a run is the common text below, with `SCENE` replaced by `What is in this picture: ` and that view's scene text. A retry also gets the view's extra text.

## Common text (from the second batch on)

```text
Use your image generation tool to create one image, using the attached picture as the reference for shape and camera.
The attached picture is a plain 3D model render of a precision machining and assembly plant (fictional). Turn it into a colour, photorealistic photograph of the same place, as if taken from exactly the same spot at eye height (1.6 m) with a full-frame camera.
Keep exactly, as in the reference: the camera position, height and angle, the lens and the framing (landscape, same crop); the shape of the building and the room; the walls, the blue steel columns and the roof beams; every door, dock door and window where it is; and every machine, rack, workbench, conveyor, pallet, vehicle and piece of furniture at the same position and size, with the same count. Do not add, remove, merge, move or resize any large object. Small details (lights, cables, signs without words, tools on benches, boxes on shelves) may be added where they fit.
SCENE
Style: a clean, modern, well-run plant on a bright day. Light grey epoxy floor with painted markings exactly where the reference shows them and nowhere else: a pale yellow band becomes a plain grey walkway between two solid yellow lines (not hatched, not filled); a pale green band becomes a green-painted pedestrian walkway; only an area drawn with diagonal hatch lines becomes yellow-and-black hatching. Floors drawn plain white stay plain grey epoxy. Natural daylight from the continuous glazed barrel rooflights and the high window bands, plus LED high-bay lights hanging under the roof beams. Insulated metal wall panels in light grey, steel roof deck. Realistic CNC machine tools in white and light grey with dark grey control panels and safety glass in their doors, a small signal light tower on top of each. Natural colours, sharp, realistic perspective, no lens distortion beyond the reference. People are optional: at most two workers in work clothes, far from the camera and seen from the side or back, never close-up faces.
No text, no letters or numbers, no logos, no brand names, no watermark, no caption.
Save the generated image in this directory as photo.png and reply with its path. Do not modify any other file.
```

The first run (view 5, attempt 1) used an earlier version of this text. Its floor-marking sentence was:

```text
Style: a clean, modern, well-run plant on a bright day. Light grey epoxy floor with painted lines: where the reference shows a pale yellow band, a walkway bordered by solid yellow lines; where it shows a pale green band, a green-painted pedestrian walkway; a hatched area becomes yellow-and-black hatching.
```

In that photo, the pale yellow main aisle at the left edge came out as yellow-and-black hatching, so the sentence was made stricter for every later run.

## Views

Camera: `eye` and `target` are in metres of the hall floor area (x east, z south, y up from the floor; the hall spans 0–48 × 0–28), with `fov` the vertical field of view. Every view was drawn at 1536 × 1024, `mode: "solid"`, `theme: "paper"`, `caption: false`, `labels: false`, `scope: "building"`.

### 1. Yard side: façade, dock doors and docked truck

- Photo: `images/photo-1-exterior-yard.webp` (generated, attempt 2)
- Render: `images/render-1-exterior-yard.webp`
- Camera: eye (24, 1.6, 60), target (25, 4.0, 28), fov 50°

Scene text:

```text
The long south façade of the single-storey factory hall, seen straight on from the yard about 30 m away, the whole façade spanning the frame. Light grey insulated metal wall panels with vertical joints and a flat roof hidden behind a straight parapet (no visible roof slope). Six wide high-level window bands in one row along the upper wall (the leftmost cut by the frame edge). At ground level, from left to right: the front of a parked dark red car at the left edge, one office window, a single personnel door with a small flat canopy above it, a long blank stretch of wall, then two loading dock doors with black dock shelters around them. A white rigid box truck is backed onto the left of the two dock doors, its cab towards the camera; the right dock door is open with no truck. In front: an empty, clean asphalt yard; a concrete footpath runs along the left half of the façade. Sky: bright, lightly clouded, no other buildings close by.
```

Extra text for the retry (attempt 2):

```text
Keep the truck as long as in the reference: a long white rigid box truck whose body runs from the dock door straight towards the camera, about three times as long as the dock door is wide, with its cab at the near end. The yard is plain dark grey asphalt everywhere, with only thin white parking lines at the far left near the car: no green or yellow paint, no hatching.
```

### 2. South-west corner: office windows, personnel door and car park

- Photo: `images/photo-2-exterior-entrance.webp` (generated, attempt 1)
- Render: `images/render-2-exterior-entrance.webp`
- Camera: eye (-4, 1.6, 50), target (16, 3.5, 27), fov 50°

Scene text:

```text
The factory hall seen from the south-west corner of its yard: on the left the blank west end wall, on the right the long south façade receding into the distance. Light grey insulated metal wall panels with vertical joints, flat roof behind a straight parapet. Six wide high-level window bands along the upper façade. At ground level near the corner: two office windows, then a single personnel door under a small flat canopy. Three cars are parked side by side in painted parking bays in front of the office (from left: dark grey, silver, dark red), with empty bays to their right. Far right, at the end of the façade: a white rigid box truck backed onto a dock door with a black dock shelter, and a second dock shelter. Clean asphalt yard, a concrete footpath along the façade, bright lightly clouded sky.
```

### 3. Inside the personnel door, looking north into the hall

- Photo: `images/photo-3-interior-personnel-door.webp` (generated, attempt 1)
- Render: `images/render-3-interior-personnel-door.webp`
- Camera: eye (12.6, 1.6, 26.6), target (22, 2.2, 8), fov 60°

Scene text:

```text
Inside the hall, standing just inside the personnel door and looking north. Right foreground: a long straight roller conveyor (a steel frame with rollers) running to the right edge; beyond it, three U-shaped assembly cells of grey steel workbenches (each cell: a bench across the back and one bench on each side). Left foreground: a green-painted pedestrian walkway leading away from the camera to the main aisle. Middle: the main aisle crossing the whole hall from left to right (pale yellow band). Beyond it: a line of blue steel columns; four machines with their backs to the camera (two long CNC lathes on the left, two smaller grinders on the right); behind them, along the far wall under the high window bands, the row of six vertical machining centres facing the camera with their doors and control panels. Far right: tall pallet racking with orange beams and boxes, and a yellow forklift parked in front of it. Overhead: steel roof beams across the hall and continuous glazed barrel rooflights.
```

### 4. West end, looking east down the main aisle

- Photo: `images/photo-4-interior-west-aisle.webp` (generated, attempt 1)
- Render: `images/render-4-interior-west-aisle.webp`
- Camera: eye (1.2, 1.6, 16.5), target (30, 2.0, 15.5), fov 55°

Scene text:

```text
Standing at the west end wall and looking east down the main aisle of the hall: the pale yellow aisle runs straight from the camera to the far end wall. Left of the aisle: a line of blue steel columns receding into the distance (the nearest one tall and close); beyond them, the machines: the nearest is a long CNC lathe, more machines further away, then pallet racking with orange beams and a yellow forklift near the far end. Right: the glazed office/QC room, its glass wall running along the right of the frame with a glass door and blue pilasters behind, and a tall grey measuring machine inside at the right edge; beyond the office, rows of assembly workbenches and, at the far end, a loaded pallet. The far end wall is plain light grey. Overhead: steel roof beams across the hall and glazed barrel rooflights.
```

### 5. East end of the machine aisle, looking west along the machines

- Photo: `images/photo-5-interior-machine-aisle.webp` (generated, attempt 1)
- Render: `images/render-5-interior-machine-aisle.webp`
- Camera: eye (39, 1.6, 6.0), target (10, 1.8, 5.8), fov 50°

Scene text:

```text
The machine aisle of the machining hall, looking west along it from its east end. On the right, six vertical CNC machining centres stand in one straight row along the north wall, each a tall enclosure with a large sliding door with a window and a control panel to the right of the door, all facing the aisle; the nearest fills the right edge of the frame. On the left, a second row of four machines faces them across the aisle: from near to far, two grinders and then two CNC lathes; the nearest is the large box at the left. Blue steel columns stand behind the left row, and blue pilasters stand in the right-hand wall between the high window bands. At the far end of the aisle, two dark blue tool cabinets stand against the end wall. Far left, beyond the columns, a glimpse of the assembly area and the glazed office. Overhead: steel roof beams across the hall and continuous barrel rooflights between them. The floor of the aisle is clear and empty.
```

### 6. From the main aisle, looking south-east to the dock doors

- Photo: `images/photo-6-interior-docks.webp` (generated, attempt 1)
