Start from the small cafe model (free sign-up). Article 10(1)(i)ロ of Japan’s fire service order asks extinguishers, whatever the total floor, of an item (3) use (restaurants and the like) with equipment or appliances that use fire, except those with the measure the ministry’s rules set. That measure is a device that keeps cooking oil from overheating, an automatic extinguisher, or another device with a safety function that prevents a dangerous state and lessens the harm when one comes (fire service rules, article 5-4). Other item (3) uses need them from a total floor of 150 m² (article 10(1)(ii)ロ). In this article, on a mock small cafe, your AI checks the extinguishers by that rule. It ran the same tools an AI calls over MCP. Every figure and number below comes from that run.
1. The total floor
The mock cafe is a single storey of 8 × 8 m = 64 m² to the outer faces of its walls, with a cooking line in the kitchen and four tables in the dining room. A total floor is measured to the walls’ centrelines, so your AI works it out from the outer walls’ thickness get_space gives (0.2 m): 7.8 × 7.8 m = 60.84 m².
2. Are extinguishers needed?
Your AI checks with check_space’s extinguishers (extinguishers), with the cooking fire without a safety device and with one.
- With equipment that uses fire and has no safety device, a gas hob for one, extinguishers are needed even at a total floor of 60.84 m² (article 10(1)(i)ロ). The units asked are 60.84 m² ÷ 100 m² = 0.61.
- With only equipment carrying a safety device, such as one that keeps cooking oil from overheating, the total floor is short of 150 m², and extinguishers are not asked.
3. One extinguisher
Your AI puts one extinguisher of 1 unit against the dining room wall by the kitchen door (edit_space).
- 1 unit is enough for the 0.61 asked.
- Every part of the floor is within 20 m walking of it; the farthest, the dining room’s south-east corner, is 6.08 m. Its top is 0.6 m high, no more than 1.5 m.
check_spacestill finds nothing.
4. Using the check
- Draw your shop (from a PDF drawing or photos as well), and tell your AI the equipment that uses fire and its safety devices. A tenant in a building of other uses counts the total floor of its own use.
- Laydyne checks whether they are needed, the units, the walk and the height. The kind of extinguisher (for which fire), its sign, the notice of the kitchen’s fire equipment and other equipment such as a fire alarm are not checked. Before opening, take the drawing to the fire department.
