Start from the long-term care health facility model (free sign-up). Article 3 of Japan’s standard for long-term care health facilities asks for rooms of four residents or fewer and 8 m² or more a resident. The training room is 1 m² or more for each resident of the facility, the dining room 2 m² or more for each. Article 4 asks for corridors of 1.8 m or more, 2.7 m or more between rooms. In this article, on a mock floor, your AI checks the rooms and the corridor by that standard. It ran the same tools an AI calls over MCP. Every figure and number below comes from that run.
1. The rooms, the training and dining rooms and the corridor
The mock floor is 32.4 × 14.3 m, with five rooms of four along the north of a middle corridor and the dining and lounge room, the training room and the others along the south. The residents are the beds, 20. Two washbasins stand in the corridor. check_space finds nothing, and every room can be reached from the entrance.
Your AI counts the beds in each room with check_space’s floor area a person (areaPerPerson) against its area, checks the training and dining rooms against the residents, and measures the corridor’s clear width with the corridor widths (corridors).
| Room | People | Asked | Area |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rooms 1–4 | 4 | 32 m² | 33.28 m² |
| Room 5 | 4 | 32 m² | 31.2 m² (short) |
| Training room | 20 | 20 m² | 23.2 m² |
| Dining and lounge | 20 | 40 m² | 46.4 m² |
- Room 5 is narrower than the others: with four beds it is 31.2 m², short of 32 m².
- The corridor is drawn 2.7 m wide, but by the washbasins it is 2.25 m clear, short of the 2.7 m between rooms.
2. The fixes
In one change (edit_space), your AI takes a bed out of room 5, making it a room of three, and moves the two washbasins out of the corridor into the washroom on the south.
- Room 5 has three beds, and its 31.2 m² is enough for the 24 m² they ask. The residents are 19.
- The training room (19 m² asked) and the dining and lounge room (38 m² asked) are enough too.
- The corridor is 2.7 m clear, enough for 2.7 m between rooms.
check_spacestill finds nothing.
3. Using the check
- The training and dining rooms count the residents of the whole facility: tell your AI those on other floors too.
- Draw your facility (from a PDF drawing or photos as well), and tell your AI the beds in each room and the residents.
- Laydyne checks the drawing’s areas, the corridor’s clear width and the passages and door fronts. The corridor with its handrails fitted, whether the building is fire-resistant, the stairs and lifts, and the bath’s and toilets’ fittings are not checked. Before applying, take the drawing to the local government.
