Start from the business hotel guest floor model (free sign-up; running a simulation is Pro). Between check-out and check-in, every room must be made ready for the next guest. In this article, in the members’ business hotel guest floor model, your AI simulates a day of housekeeping. It ran the same tools an AI calls over MCP. Every figure and number below comes from that run.

1. The guest floor and the cleaning

Plan of the business hotel’s guest floor
Six rooms each north and south of the central corridor (rooms 501 to 512), stair halls at the west and the east ends
  • A guest floor of 12 rooms, six on each side of the central corridor. check_space finds nothing.

The AI wrote this flow as a scenario (put_process_scenario).

  • The housekeepers start at 9:00 from the west stair hall, where the linen and the cart are kept. The next guests check in from 15:00.
  • 30 % of the 12 rooms have guests staying another night; their rooms are tidied once cleaning starts (8 to 15 minutes, most often 10).
  • The other rooms check out between 9:00 and 10:00 (most often 9:30) and are cleaned for the next guest as they are vacated (25 minutes a room on average, from three quarters to one and a half times that). Late check-outs vacate at 12:00.
  • The nearest free housekeeper goes to each room as it is ready, and on from there to the next.
  • Every number and time is an assumption. Put in your own hotel’s records.

2. The housekeepers and late check-outs

The AI changed the housekeepers (1, 2) and the share of late check-outs (none, a quarter, half) (sweep_process_parameters), 20 runs each. A room takes 25 minutes on average. “Until a housekeeper comes” is the mean time from a room being ready to be cleaned to a housekeeper reaching it.

  • Even with one housekeeper, all 12 rooms are ready at 13:17. With two, at 11:15.
  • When half the rooms check out late, one housekeeper finishes at 14:23 and two at 13:19: with many rooms vacated at 12:00, even two finish later.

3. The time to clean a room

With one housekeeper, the AI changed the mean time to clean a room (25, 30, 35 minutes) and the share of late check-outs.

  • At 35 minutes a room with half checking out late, it is 15:31: too late for the 15:00 check-in.

4. How to use this check

  • Draw your own hotel’s guest floor (from a PDF of the drawings or photos too), and tell your AI each room’s check-out time, the shares of stay-overs and late check-outs, how long a room takes and the housekeepers. Your AI also puts a moved linen room or cart store on the drawing and checks it.
  • Not checked: housekeepers covering several floors and the lifts between them, inspection, bringing up the linen, breaks, and early check-ins.
