Start from the office floor model (64 desks) (free sign-up; running a simulation is Pro). At lunch, a queue forms in front of the pantry’s microwave. In this article, in the members’ office model, your AI puts microwaves in the pantry and simulates heating lunch. It ran the same tools an AI calls over MCP. Every figure and number below comes from that run.

1. The office and lunchtime

Plan of the office floor of 64 desks
Eight islands of eight to the north, the printers and storage in the middle, three meeting rooms, phone booths, the pantry and the toilets to the south, the reception and the lifts to the east
  • An office of 64 desks in eight islands of eight. In one change (edit_space), your AI puts three microwaves on the pantry counter beside the coffee machine. check_space finds nothing.

The AI wrote this flow as a scenario (put_process_scenario).

  • The 64 staff go to lunch at 12:00. Staggered, the four west islands go at 11:45 and the four east islands at 12:15. Each leaves their desk within five minutes (most often after one).
  • Those who brought lunch (40 %, say) queue in one line in the pantry, heat it at a free microwave (1 to 3 minutes, most often 1.5, 1 minute 50 seconds on average) and take it back to their desk. The others go out.
  • Every number and time is an assumption. Put in your own office’s records.

2. The microwaves, and staggering lunch

The AI changed the microwaves used (1 to 3) and how lunch starts (all at once, half and half 30 minutes apart) (sweep_process_parameters), 20 runs each, with 40 % bringing lunch. Desk to desk and the wait are a person’s mean; the longest wait, those queuing and the last back at their desk are means over the 20 runs.

  • With 40 % (25.3) heating lunch and one microwave, the wait is 20.4 minutes on average, the longest 40.7, and the last is back at their desk at 12:47. At 1 minute 50 seconds each, about 46 minutes of heating come together just after noon.
  • With two microwaves the wait is 9.0 minutes on average; with three, 5.3.
  • With lunch staggered half and half 30 minutes apart, even one microwave gives 9.3 minutes, about the same as two. Two, staggered, give 3.6.

3. The share who bring lunch

With everyone at 12:00, the AI changed the share who bring lunch (25, 40, 60 %) and the microwaves (1, 2).

  • With 60 % bringing lunch, the wait is 32.3 minutes on average with one microwave, and still 14.9 with two.

4. How to use this check

  • Draw your own office (from a PDF of the drawings or photos too), and tell your AI the staff and their desks, when lunch is, the share who bring lunch, the time to heat it, and the microwaves and where they are. Your AI also runs two pantries on the drawing.
  • Not checked: those pouring hot water, the queue for the coffee machine, the fridge, seats for those eating in the pantry, and days when fewer come in.
