Start from the sauna model (free sign-up). A sauna (a steam or hot-air bath) is item (9)イ of Appended Table 1 of Japan’s Fire Service Act Order. In this article, in the members’ sauna (ground floor, 197.64 m² in all), your AI checks the automatic fire alarm, the extinguishers and the exit lights. It ran the same tools an AI calls over MCP. Every figure and number below comes from that run.
1. The automatic fire alarm: the line at 200 m²
Item (9)イ needs an automatic fire alarm from 200 m² of total floor (Article 21(1)(ii)). Your AI checks with check_space’s fireAlarm.
- This sauna is 197.64 m² in all, 2.36 m² short of 200, so it needs none.
- From 200 m² it would. Its detectors would then be one in each room people stay in (the two changing rooms, the lobby, the rest area and the staff room): five. Whether the bathrooms, the sauna rooms and the toilets take one, and which, is for the fire department.
2. The extinguishers: one is enough, where it goes decides
Item (9) needs extinguishers from 150 m² of total floor (Article 10(1)(ii)). Article 6 of the Fire Service Act Rules asks one unit for each 100 m²: 1.98 units.
- Your AI puts one extinguisher of three units on the lobby’s wall by the entrance (
edit_space): the units are enough. - Checked for a walk of 20 m at most from anywhere on the floor, the north-east corner of the women’s sauna room is 20.6 m away: too far.
- In one change your AI moves the extinguisher to the rest area’s north wall. The farthest point is then 17.03 m: within 20 m.
3. The exit lights
Item (9) needs exit and passage lights on every floor (Article 26(1)). They may be left out where a main exit is seen from every part of the rooms within 20 m on the floor with the way out (Rules Article 28-2).
- Your AI checks with
exitSigns, the entrance as the main exit. The entrance is seen from the lobby, but not from the changing rooms, the rest area or the staff room. - So neither the exit lights nor the passage lights may be left out.
4. Using the check
- Draw your sauna (from a PDF drawing or photos as well), and tell your AI its total floor. If, with the building’s other floors or shops, the total floor passes 200 m², what it needs changes.
- Not checked: the detectors that suit a bathroom or a sauna room, the Public Bath Act and the local ordinance, the clearances round a sauna heater, and the fire prevention manager (the occupant load).
