Start from the conference room for talks and dinner (free sign-up), or draw your own venue. When a dinner follows a talk in the same room, the room is set out twice. In this article your AI compares and sets out a room for a talk and a dinner for 80. It runs on a synthetic venue with the same tools your AI calls over MCP. Every number and drawing below comes from that run.
1. The venue
The synthetic venue is a conference room 22 × 18 m.
- Along the north wall stands a stage (6 × 3 m, with a screen and a lectern); by the entrance to the south, a buffet line and a two-desk reception.
- Today ten round tables of eight face the stage (80 seats).
check_spacefinds nothing. - Your AI sets out, with
suggest_arrangement, the rectangle from the front of the stage to north of the buffet and the reception (21.5 × 9.6 m). It keeps 1.5 m clear in front of the stage and 0.9 m from the walls, leaves the space in front of doors, and after setting out checks the passages (0.9 m) and the doors, taking away the seats a finding names.
2. How many seats
| Way | Seats | Desks or tables |
|---|---|---|
| Theatre (rows of chairs) | 256 | none |
| Classroom (desks for three) | 135 | 45 |
| Round tables of eight (1.5 m) | 80 | 10 |
| Round tables of ten (1.8 m) | 100 | 10 |
| Boardroom (one block) | 66 | 20 |
| U-shape | 48 | 16 |
| Islands | 48 | 48 |
- At round tables of eight, today’s ten tables and 80 seats are the room’s limit. Tables of ten seat 100.
- Theatre rows keep 0.45 m from a chair back to the next row, 0.9 m aisles between blocks and at most 12 seats between aisles, and round tables 1.0 m apart (all the tool’s representative values).
3. For 80
Your AI passed seats: 80: rows or tables are kept from the front until there are at least 80.
- Theatre takes three rows, 96 seats; classroom 27 desks, 81 seats; round tables ten tables, 80 seats.
- Boardroom (66), U-shape and islands (48) do not reach 80.
4. From the talk to the dinner
Your AI set the room out in theatre rows for the talk (taking away today’s ten round tables and 80 chairs and setting out 96 chairs), and back to round tables for the dinner (taking away the 96 chairs and setting out ten round tables and 80 chairs). Each is one change, and check_space finds nothing after either.
- Reusing the chairs, the change from the talk to the dinner is 16 chairs put away and ten round tables brought out.
- The seating chart (
get_seating_chart) reads the dinner’s ten tables and 80 seats, ready for names.
5. How to use these numbers
- Tell your AI the sizes of the venue’s chairs, desks and round tables, the stage, and the aisle the staff need.
- The spacing here is representative, not a fire or evacuation approval. Follow the building’s rules and what the fire authority requires.
- For the ways of setting out a room, see Setting out a training room; for names at the tables, Make a wedding seating chart with your AI.
