Assigning seats or booths means seating everyone at once by the rules (guests of honour nearest the head table, candidates in number order, one team to an island, no two exhibitors in the same field side by side), checking the aisles and doors on the plan, and handing out the names. Here are six examples an AI made in earlier articles, with the tools it calls over MCP (assign_guests, get_seating_chart and edit_space).
1. Six examples
| Occasion | Placed | Seats, desks or booths | Issues after seating | What it gave |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A wedding (120, a head table and twelve round tables) | 122 (the guests and the couple) | 124 seats | 0 | A seating chart with names, a card for each table, a list by name |
| A company party (fifteen long tables) | 120 | 120 seats | 0 | A seating chart, table cards, a list by name |
| A small wedding (40, five tables with the head table) | 42 | 42 seats | 0 | A seating chart, table cards |
| An exam room (a desk each) | 72 | 80 desks | 0 | A seat map for the door, a list for the reception |
| An office floor (eight islands of eight) | 55 (eight teams) | 64 seats | 0 | A card for each island, a list by name |
| A trade show (four rows of booths) | 24 exhibitors | 24 booths | 0 (and no two of a field side by side) | A booth plan with the names on the fascias and the plan |
2. What they show
- Give the rules, and everyone is seated at once. The wedding seated 122 people in 124 seats, the company party 120 in 120 seats and the office 55 in 64 seats, each by its own rules.
- Check the plan after seating. Each plan's check of the aisles and doors after seating found 0 issues; at the trade show, no two exhibitors in the same field are side by side either.
- Get what is handed out. A seating chart with names, cards for each table or island, a list by name, a seat map for the exam room's door and a booth plan.

4. How to ask an AI
Seat these 120 guests in this banquet hall (as drawn): guests of honour and bosses at the tables nearest the head table, family at the far ones. Make a seating chart with names, a card for each table and a list by name.
5. What this does not cover
- The guests, candidates, staff and exhibitors are all made up. Put your own lists in their place.
